With a wide variety of game fish within the Long Lake, Minerva, and Newcomb area, there is something for everyone.There are brook trout in many of the small streams and ponds, some native and some stocked, while there is a good supply of brown and rainbow trout in many of the rivers. The Boreas and Hudson rivers hold a variety of fish for your enjoyment.The local lakes also have many species of fish, from pike and bass in Long Lake to lake trout and salmon in Lake Eaton. Fishing will be done with small outboards, canoes or by walk-in. In the summer season many of these areas have camping sites if you so choose. There are also many other accommodations, including hotels, motels, and bed-and-breakfasts, which can be easily arranged. All equipment will be provided, but if you have your own favorite setup, do feel free to bring it along. Please remember you will need a New York State fishing license which can be purchased online at www.dec.state.ny.us.
